I only use natural Masks and Scrubs, as a result of this we can achieve great outcomes. For one thing it’s well documented the effects these chosen products have on the skin and hair. Also many cultures have used these products for 1,000 of years.

About Masks and Scrubs

Safe and easy to use, I make a paste of the masks using almond or grapeseed oil, if you want a mask that doesn’t dry. However for a more astringent mask use witch hazel or rose water resulting in it drying out. It’ll also crack when you laugh. Hydrating masks I use aloe vera or yoghurt as a base when a richer mask is required. On the other hand, when you use oil it’s warmed then applied to the face, hands, feet or hair. Therefore aiding to increase vaso dailation and absorption of essential properties.
How Masks & Scrubs work
I must say although I do try to use replenishable products the clays are mined out of the earth therfore you may prefer to use an alternative to them.
Substitute to clays:
You can certainly add Dried Herbs to masks and use a more astringent mixing medium
Natural Astringents
- Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana)
- Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus)
- Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
- Oak Bark (Quercus alba or robust)
- Blackberry Leaf and Root (Rubus fruticosus)
- Green and Black Tea (Camellia sinensis)
- Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria)
- Shepherd’s Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris)
- Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
- Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Also you make these up into a tea Using these liquids you are not adding more oil to the skin. Also they will soak the excess sebum up if you put the dried herbs into the mix too.

Using Masks and scrubs
- As a rule, you should only mask and scrub the maximum of once a week.
- However if you exfoliate the surface of the skin too much it can have the opposite reaction to what you want.
- Then once the skin has improved you can cut this down to 3 – 5 weekly. You can over-exfoliate and dry out the skin. Causing dull, thick skin.
- To dry a spot out you can just put the mask on the spot, however taking care not to dry out the surrounding skin.
- You must be aware of allergies these products do contain ingredients that you may be allergic to.
